Meet the Boss
I’ve had a lot of great experiences in my life through encounters with great people to be challenged mentally each day. Its not very often people can combine these as a job but I can say I have. From an early age I’ve always been interested repairing things form watching my granddad repair cars to fixing leaking pipes so you could say I’ve been playing with tools longer than I’ve been reading and writing. The first opportunity I was given was by my friends father, Pete Gaize a lecturer at college who phoned me and said ‘fancy a go at a bit of plumbing’ just as I finished my A-levels. After those infamous words when I was 17 I’ve never turned back. I served my apprenticeship back in 2005 for Glevum heating, the best apprenticeship in the south-west. Here I learned my trade with some of the most talented engineers honing my skills in installing all types of heating systems from domestic to light commercial plying my trade all over the south west.
In 2010 I left Glevum to join PH Jones British Gas to broaden my horizons and expand my knowledge of the trade with repairs and servicing. Here I taught myself faultfinding, heating system wiring, repairing and servicing all models of boilers. After a long 3 years I re joined Glevum heating a better more experienced engineer as a part of the servicing and repair team. In the 3 years at Glevum I gained even more valuable experience in heating system repairs and also experience in the renewable sector. I was fortunate to work on biomass, air source heat pumps and solar thermal. It was after this period me and business partner Nathan who we had worked on off with each other for 10 years decided that we would combine our skill and knowledge and start our own company and in the later part of 2014 and Green Flame Plumbing, Heating & Renewables was established
I met my wife, who was at school with me, in 2009 and have 2 Beautiful children with her, Louis 3 and Esme who is 1.
We have worked on all aspects of heating in the home or work place, broadening our range of heating methods and fuel types from log burners, oil boilers to your more conventional gas central heating systems. As well as being able to offer these installations we have been carefully nursing a good landlord/ client base in which we provide gas safety checks to an efficient repair service. Log burners are becoming very popular from wet to dry stoves and also underfloor heating systems in renovations in which we both have experience. As with anything heating controls offer more than just room temperature, they are smart controls with apps on smart phones and clever software allowing control from afar and the controls learning the customers preferences.
